School Parliament

We believe that the views and ideas of the pupils at St Modwen's are extremely important.  Our School Council is a selection of children elected from within their own year group to represent views and issues.  Each class has selected two pupils and we meet every two weeks to comment on what is happening in school.

The purpose of our School Council is

  • to promote empowerment
  • to ensure that pupils' views are important and acted upon
  • for children to offer opinions about things that affect them
  • for children to offer ideas for charitable fundraising (local and international)
  • to improve the school
  • to develop citizenship skills

Reports from the School Council are submitted to the Headteacher and passed to the Governing Body.
