Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to this week’s newsletter!

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another wonderful academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect with immense gratitude on all that we have achieved together as a school community. Our Year 6 pupils have given us a truly fabulous end to the year, stepping up at every opportunity to showcase their many gifts and talents through leadership, performances, sporting events, celebrations and their final weeks at St Modwen’s. Yesterday, we were delighted to receive their SATs results which were outstanding and represented a significant improvement on last year’s already excellent outcomes. These results are a testament to the hard work, resilience and determination of our children, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of their families.

As one chapter closes, we also say goodbye to several valued members of staff who have each made a lasting contribution to our school community: Miss Butt, Miss Coleman, Miss Beaumont, Miss Dingley and Miss Wright. We thank them sincerely for their commitment and wish them every happiness and success in the future. We also send our warmest congratulations and best wishes to Miss Sohal and Ms Roberts as they prepare for their weddings and embark on exciting new chapters in their lives. Finally, we wish Mrs Hatton all the very best as she begins her maternity leave in anticipation of welcoming baby number four to her family.

On behalf of everyone at St Modwen’s, thank you to all our parents and families for your continued support, encouragement and partnership throughout the year. Your support makes an enormous difference to the life of our school and the success of our children. We hope that all of our families enjoy a safe, happy and relaxing summer break filled with precious time together. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Wednesday 2nd September for another exciting year of learning, growth and opportunity.

God bless and have a wonderful summer.

Reception:

What an incredible year we have had in Reception! It only felt like yesterday when all of the children came into school for their very first day and now they are getting ready for Year 1. We have had many beautiful memories this year and every single child has made wonderful progress! Thank you for all of the wonderful presents we have received, as well as the beautiful messages and cards. Miss Butt and Miss Mallinson wish you all a lovely summer and the best of luck in Year 1.

Year 1:

Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed our final week together, spending time playing games, celebrating friendships and reflecting on the wonderful progress we have made throughout the year. We are so proud of everything the children have achieved and the enthusiasm, resilience and kindness they have shown each day. It has been a joy to watch them grow in confidence and develop as learners. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the year—it is greatly appreciated. We hope everyone has a happy, relaxing and well-deserved summer break, and we wish the children all the very best as they move on to Year 2!

Year 3:

We have had a fantastic week to end our year in year 3! We have finished our topics across the curriculum and have enjoyed listening to and taking part in the leavers assembly and mass. The children have worked so incredibly hard this year and we are very proud of them all. We wish you all a safe, happy and restful summer!

Year 6:

What a busy final week it has been: Leavers' Assembly, Parents' Lunch, Leavers' Mass, Year 6 Lunch and a final day full of emotion. We are so proud of their achievements throughout the year; they have worked incredibly hard in all areas of their school lives. We will miss them all but look forward to hearing about their future successes! Well done Year 6 - Mr Mawhinney & Miss Goodman
