We hope that you are all safe and well. As we approach the end of a very different term, we would like to thank you all for your continued support, it has been so lovely to hear your positive feedback and suggestions for the future.
In the next academic year, our aim is to work more closely with our parents and create a range of opportunities to invite you into school to share your child’s learning. We would love to further develop our community links and make St Modwen’s a community where everyone is welcomed, valued and has the opportunity to contribute towards our mission “Together we achieve, believe and care”.
I had a lovely conversation with Father Fabian this week, together we discussed strengthening the link between home, school and parish. I shared with him our ideas to give our children real opportunities to have an impact on the poor and vulnerable, both in our local community and around the globe. This work has already started; children have sent cards/videos of thanks to key-workers, cards to the elderly, a pen-pal system has been set up with orphan children in Pakistan (See video on page below) and letters to Syrian refugee children.
As you area aware, there have been some changes to the staff structure for next year. Both Mrs Chadfield (Acting Deputy), Mr Quinn (Assistant Head) and I look forward to welcoming our new members of staff who will all add even more value to our existing fabulous team. We are really excited about the year ahead and look forward to welcoming you all back in September.
Arrivals and Collections
To confirm, we have staggered the ‘drop off’ and collection times, however, we understand that some families will have children in different year groups. Please be assured that, as a school, we are doing everything we can to support you, whilst still complying with Government guidelines. Therefore, all siblings can be brought together at the earliest allotted time and all siblings can be collected together at the latest allotted time.
Once again, I’m so sorry about the confusion with the PE kits, please accept my sincerest apologies and thank you to those parents who took the time to correct me.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of the staff, for you messages of thanks and generous gifts, the staff really appreciate this. I’m sure you will agree with me, the staff here are absolutely amazing and have worked extremely hard this year, showing their care and commitment to all of our children.
Message to Year 6
I wish all of our Year 6 children the very best of luck in their new schools. Please remember, you will always be part of St Modwen’s community and “with God anything is possible”. In your new school shine bright, fly high and be the best that you can be. We plan to invite you all back for a true St Modwen’s goodbye in the Autumn Term and will be in touch in due course.
We hope all our children and families have a fantastic summer holiday, stay safe, have fun and we look forward to seeing you ALL in September.
A massive thanks to our amazing PTA who have donated £23,000 to our school over the last few years. These donations have helped us develop our school environment and enhance learning opportunities for pupils. #grateful #PTA
