Dear Parents/Carers
A very warm welcome back to our families and pupils as we begin a new academic year. Also, a warm welcome to our new children and families in our Reception and Nursery classes, it is wonderful to welcome you into our family. Thank you to all our families for your commitment to supporting our uniform policy, the children look exceptionally smart and ready to learn; I am aware that this takes much organisation from parents and carers and it is greatly appreciated!
On Friday 15th September we begin this year's Celebration Assemblies once again. The office team will let parents know on Thursday's if your child is due to receive an award. All parents are welcome every Friday if you wish to join us at 9am-9:45am.
Another super event taking place this month is our fundraising coffee morning for Macmillan. This takes place on Thursday 28th September and we invite you to join us for Mass and coffee in school on that morning at 9:15am. You will receive an invitation through ParentMail for you to respond to if you are able to join us.
Over the Summer, as part of our ongoing commitment to improving the school site, we have had electric security gates installed. A reminder that the gates open at 2:50pm for Nursery parents to access car parking if required, and we kindly ask that all other year group parents aim to arrive at around 3:10pm onwards to make use of the car park. Please exercise caution if queuing on the main road, we have had reports of the road being blocked for passing cars/ emergency vehicles etc. Arriving at the suggested timings should avoid this situation occurring. Our preference is that you 'park and stride' or walk to school to keep traffic on the school site to a minimum. If you can arrange to do this just once a week, it would result in a 20% reduction in traffic. Something to think about for this new year while it is still warm!
Wishing you all a lovely sunny weekend,
Mrs. Sherratt
