What we have been learning this week.....

We have been learning all about Holy Week. We shared the bible story of Palm Sunday and role played Jesus arriving in Jerusalem. The children are beginning to understand we make the sign of the cross at the beginning and end of prayers to remind us that Jesus died on the cross. We will continue with the Easter story after the half term. Wishing you a happy and holy Easter.

In Science, we have been learning all about the season Spring. We spoke about all the different signs of Spring and how trees change throughout the year. We were very surprised to learn that the days get longer, and it stays lighter for longer too.

We also enjoyed watching Year 3 and Year 4 performing the Easter production.
After the Easter break, in Maths, we will continue our work with multiplication and then division. In English, our next text is 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley'. We will be looking at living things and their habitats in Science and beaches and coastlines in Geography.

In RE, we have started to look at the events of Holy week and the reasons behind Jesus' death. Year 4 have been working super hard with rehearsing and performing the Easter play. We are so proud of both Year 3 and Year 4 this week. From the actors to the readers, prayer readers and singers, every child has given it their all, whilst also reflecting on the suffering and pain that Jesus went through for us. Thank you to all parents/carers/family who came to watch the Easter play and support the children. This afternoon, Year 4 have been on their trip to the library, where they focussed on reading for pleasure and choosing what type of book they like to read most.
